F&M Trust adds Katie Groh Fitzsimmons to local advisory board
Newest member hopes to offer "fresh viewpoint" to benefit the bank
F&M Trust has added a fourth member to its Hagerstown/Washington County Advisory Board.

Katharine “Katie” Groh Fitzsimmons joins a trio of advisors who have been working with the bank to connect with new customers since F&M Trust opened a community office in downtown Hagerstown in the summer of 2022.

Groh Fitzsimmons helps to manage dozens of commercial and industrial properties owned by Groh Enterprises and directs the Groh Charitable Trust, which gives more than $500,000 annually to community organizations.

“I’m excited to try something new and to help F&M Trust find meaningful ways to get involved in the community,” Groh Fitzsimmons said. “I can offer a fresh viewpoint to the advisory board, and hopefully I have some connections that will benefit the bank.”

Groh Fitzsimmons has been an adjunct vocal music teacher at Barbara Ingram School for the Arts for 15 years and serves as an honorary advisory board member of the school’s foundation. She has performed with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra in Hagerstown and serves as chair of the orchestra’s education committee.

“As we continue to grow in the Hagerstown/Washington County market, we are thrilled to have Katie join our advisory board,” F&M Trust President and CEO Tim Henry said. “Katie adds a whole new element to our existing team and brings to us different perspectives that will help continue to improve the bank’s ability to meet the needs of the community.”

Groh Fitzsimmons is a past member of the board of directors for Girls Inc. of Washington County, Hagerstown Day Nursery, and Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.

She joins Paul Crampton Jr., Paul C. Mellott Jr., and Gregory I. Snook on the bank’s advisory board.
