Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
Event Description:
Women in Need of Franklin and Fulton Counties will be holding their sixth annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® event on Friday, May 4, 2018. The walk will take place in Downtown Chambersburg at 6:00 p.m. and is a part of their First Friday events. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® is an International Men?s March to help increase awareness of how sexual assault impacts individuals, families, and communities. When men participate in this event, they show to the community that they are willing to take a stand against violence, because it is not simply a women?s issue. The men will be walking in 4 inch red high heeled shoes along Main Street in support of Women in Need. All proceeds from our walk will stay in our community and support Women in Need programs which include a 24 hour hotline, counseling, support groups, emergency shelter, advocacy/accompaniment to criminal/civil court and/or medical facilities, and many education programs.
