The Smithsonian National Zoo, also known as the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, is a popular zoo located in the heart of Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. Established in 1889, it is a part of the Smithsonian Institution and is home to over 2,700 animals from 390 different species.
